Flex

How easily does this snowboard bend under pressure? A soft flex is great for fun maneuverability while a stiff flex is better for aggressive high speed hill bombing.

Not the board I was expecting

I bought this board as my rock board for the 20-21 season, thinking it was a price point board that would that would suffice till I break out the nicer boards (like my new Lib Tech Jaime Board I also got) so they wouldn't get destroyed. But soon after riding between the resort and the backcountry in the early season, I had come to realize that this board is special! Really Special! I have a 159w (and weigh 210 5' 10") and this board is stiff. My friends will also say it is stiff! (Very Seasoned riders with majority mervin boards) Almost 90% sure a core might have been swapped. Maybe I'm crazy, but I have a few Libs and this one compares to the stiffest boards that Mervin makes. Needless to say, I thought this board was terrible in the pow due to early season conditions until I started getting much steeper terrain access opening and finally realized WOW! This board is my choice board for the big booters on a Pow day! The old 90's shape and lack of taper lets it sit back down in deep sugary snow. This board needs Speed! Once you achieve that, this board is at home. Everywhere! Once I finally took it to the resort also realized this board handles the chop and you can euro carve pretty well. Snaps hard before jumps and holds a nose butters almost as Mueller himself. All in all, I hope GNU continues to either keep making the anti-gravity or trust me when I say this shape might be the absolute bomb! with a stiffer core. ( Also I might add no Delaming and I have beat this thing up) I love this board! I hope other 159w feel the same way because I'll be buying more! Thanks!

Please do a 154w or 156w

Seems like the perfect board for me but the 53 and 56 will be too narrow for my big feet. Please release a shorter wide version next year.

Incredible - Never remove it from the lineup again!

Honestly - the first board I grab on anything except the deepest powder day. C3 is incredible, especially w/ Mag for that edge control. Its great ALL over the mountain. I probably wouldnt go completely bonkers with speed with it, but realistically, any riding mere mortals are doing, on any part of the mountain (including the Park) this will be fine. Im headed to Copper in '21 and I seriously cannot wait to Peace Park this sucker, I think that is it's optimum territory. Such a fun board!! I hope it sticks around for a long time as I plan to keep buying it!

Excellent Cruiser for a Chill Day

Because I own a different dedicated powder board, I use this board on days when there isn't a lot of fresh snow. It's PERFECT for groomed runs, both on warmer days and when things get icy. Also great in mixed, choppy conditions. The C3 camber combined with the magne-traction provides excellent grip. It's really friendly and turning feels easy. I would not use this as a dedicated powder board, nor would I choose this board if you're into riding at high speeds. It WILL float in powder, but you need to really lean back to make it happen. At high speeds, I find that it takes a bit more effort to get the edge to engage - it feels a bit 'slippery' when riding it flat. If you're really charging hard I'd consider the Mullair, which feels more stiff and controlled. But if you're just chilling on moderate runs and having a good time, this board is outstanding.

Phenomenal board, especially for the price!

I've rode other boards both Mervin made and not. This is by far the most fun board I've ever ridden. As the other reviews mentions, it rides better than some boards twice it's price. The hybrid camber/rocker makes it incredibly easy to turn while still maintaining great overall pop and stability. It absolutely shreds groomers and handles pow nicely! Haven't hit a park with it, but it definitely pops well on side trail hits.
