I’ve been riding this board in Colorado for the past three seasons, averaging 25+ days per season, and I absolutely love it. It performs well in the park, on groomers, and in powder. It’s stable at high speeds, high-quality, and has held up through everything!
This board has taken my riding to the next level! Rips the groomers and charges right thru crud. Super fun and surfy, it's so fun! The graphic is so cute and gets a lot of attention! Love my GNU Velvet!!!
I have the 2021 model which is absolutely sick and the texture of the topsheet is amazing! The asymmetrical edges were a game changer for me in the beginning and made my riding style go up a notch or two. Goes amazingly stable on any icey slope as in park or banked slaloms. I'm definitely looking into buying next year's model and go a size up.
Long time gnu fanboy here. Got my wife this board and she is super hyped on it. She is an intermediate rider who is focusing more on the park lately. This thing has already seemed to given her a ton of confidence and is really helping her continue progressing. Rips groomers and blows through choppy shit. She hasn’t got out on a pow day with it, but I assume it will handle like any other true twin with c2 . Also, the texture top sheet is and ass, would love to see variations of it one more boards in the line up.
I rode the Gnu Velvet down the mountain twice, and that was enough to know I HAD to buy this board!! The magne-traction is just sooo rad. I was trying real hard to get my heel edge to slip on icy conditions and it just wouldn’t. The Velvets heel edge is nuts. She just sticks sooo well. A+ carves, A+ looks, I love this board.
