Best board i have ever owned. I am 6foot2 170ish size 12 and ride the 157. It charges through just about anything and is amazing off of jumps. Locks into rails as well and can be riden switch with some practice. Great all around board for big footed fellas.
I recently started boarding last year and my first board was last years cold brew, that’s an awesome board too but I got a 155W and I fall into the big boy category at 5’11 215 lbs size 12 boot and I felt like I had a lot a speed wobbles when I would go faster so I decided to get this board, the design was so sick I couldn’t pass it up, so I got 161W and I’m so glad I did, I actually bought the B grade and it works like a charm, board just had a little chip on the bottom of it. Thing rips through all snow I’ve put it through and I was able to keep up with a lot of my buddies who skii. I ride in the East so the magnatraction goes thru the ice and literally turns it into powder..I was able to carve more in this than I was on my other board, holds an edge very well and offers really good pop on small jumps and stuff. Board is stiff but I like it, a lot more stable than my last. I haven’t given it a try yet on moguls, but I used this board to go down my first double black diamond and I didn’t fall once so this board is f**kin awesome lol thank you lib tech this board rocks
I fall into the “big boy” category at 6’4”, 220lbs and a size 13 boot. I started riding in the 80’s so as you could imagine, I’ve ridden more than a few boards. I picked up the 170uw Skunk Ape and holy moly has it been game changer. First run felt funny going from edge to edge on some warm up skidded turns. My first thought was this thing is going to wear me out with the extra width. Second run she went up on edge and that’s when the skunk ape came out of the cave. All she wants to do is go fast and lay trench. Now I know what those little dudes with their tiny boots feel like when laying it over. Booting out has become a chore instead of a common occurrence. The hardest part about riding this board is explaining to my wife that “Skunk Ape” is now a term of endearment!
So I’m 6’5” 270lbs and getting back on a board after 10 years off the slopes. I live in the east coast so it’s pretty icy. This board is perfect. Wide enough that I don’t get toe or heel drag (size 13 boots) and maaannnnn it handles the icey spots effortlessly. I have been out 8 times so far this winter and this thing is so much fun to ride I’m pretty sure I’m Lib Tech for life. For real if you are a big guy but want a board that’s super fun to ride I 150% recommend this board it’s rad
Ever since i stepped on my skunk ape, my riding has gone from 0-100. This board is capable of conquering extreme terrain. Never underestimate the power of the almighty skunk ape. The OG board for big boys who like to go big on the slopes. Im 6'0, 200 lbs , size 12 boot, riding a 165W and i have no complaints, this board does everthing i need and more.
