This board literally wants to go fast. It pushes you to go faster. Not an easy board to ride. I’m intermediate /Advance rider. The board performed awesome on the icy patches and carving. I went from a Proto type 2, Never Summer, to this lambo and no regrets…
This board is incredible, it rides amazing in all conditions with little effort due to the lightweight material and responsive core. It is the perfect blend of a Climax and an Orca, which really makes it superior in any snow condition. I rode this for the amazing 2022 season in Tahoe and it was unbelievable float in the deepest of powder. I am a big rider and it held my weight and landed with ease. I love the way it rides on a fine groomer as well. It jumps better than any other board I have ridden due to the major pop in the core and light weight base. The tail is amazing and I like the way it feels and supports the harder charger. The carbon core is really a game changer when it comes to speed and control. The difference between this and my 62 orca was insane and it renders it obsolete. I highly recommend adding one of these to the quiver if you are an aggressive rider. It loves the stacked and steep and you will see where that extra money went on your purchase.
This board chews up double blacks in the worst conditions and asks for more. Libtechs serrated edge allows you to cut through ice and anything else you can think of. Only negative thing I can say about the board is it gives you a sense of confidence that cannot transfer to other boards. You'll never feel as secure as you do ripping down on the back of an orca. East coast native, conditions are anything from slush pit to surfing down a wall of ice and the apex will gleefully take both and have you riding circles around any skier that gets in your way. I will say go shorter than you typically would as she is wider than wide and although she is light as a feather I can easily see going usual length or longer could be too much to handle. I went with a 156 when I would normally go 159+ on anything else. Precise and agile for its size, not a lot of flex if you were hoping something more playful but you could do anything on the mountain if you have the skills to tame. Would not recommend for new rider as I said it would give you a sense of confidence that doesn't transfer well to anything inferior, you tend to power through with this board rather than avoid, and it really wants to run fast.
Honestly this thing is an absolute animal. Rode it in the Wasatch backcountry, Jackson, Montana Arizona and this thing rips. I’ve never had so much fun on a board. 11/10. Highly recommend
